Quiet days at Easter

This year again, Alexander Schulze, Jens Fabich and Manuel Füllgrabe invited people to the Zingsthof over the Easter holidays. Under the theme "Common Life", chosen in reference to Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the speakers gave identity-forming impulses based on selected texts from the Old and New Testaments. In his first presentation, Alexander Schulze spoke about Isaiah 21 and the call to active participation. His second presentation on sounding and silencing axes of resonance in John 16 led to a communal observation of the Lord's supper at the Zingsthof. Once again, the rustic domicile on the Darß, not far from the Baltic Sea beach, proved to be an ideal place for generations to be together in listening, silence, praying, believing, singing and laughing.

2.2. School of Social Sciences

Annette graduated from FAU with an M.A. in International Social Sciences and a Ph.D. from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Rector Prof. Roland Fischer welcomed her as a new staff member. A warm welcome!

A joyous afternoon for Ukrainian guests

Delicious pizza, socializing and free hygiene items to take home: On the evening of April 5, the university, in cooperation with HASA GmbH, organized a special event for Ukrainian guests currently living on FAU campus. While the mobile pizza oven was in constant operation to make sure everyone got their fill, games and fun contributed to the cheerful mood.

The Ukrainian guests are currently gradually moving into their own apartments in the nearer or wider vicinity of Friedensau.

Girlsday

On Thursday, April 28, 2022, it was Girls' Day again! It was a day where teens from the 5th grade onwards, are given a day off school and given the possibility to discover new professions in practice and to test their own skills. Two girls were accepted for a short internship by Alexander Helmeke in the cafateria kitchen - and they proved to be very skilled. Perhaps a career aspiration will develop from this?
